Caller identified herself as Kristen from "HUD Homes Dept." Said she was calling me to discuss my buyers. (I'm a real estate agent.) She gave a phony sense of familiarity and implied that she was returning my earlier call. I knew it was a ploy but I kept on to see what these people want. I asked exactly what this was about and she said it was about my buyers. I pressed, "Which buyers? I have several." She then said, "Oh! It's how we can get you more buyers!" Uh huh. She put me on the phone with Allen Truslow, who started out talking quickly about how they obly market to realtors, and only one realor at a time gets this opportunity... they can put me on the radio, and TV ads, and the newspaper. I cut him off there and said I wor by referral and only advertise my listings. He quickly hung up.

I, too, am a Realtor & just received this same type msg/email contact via my company's email address?!?! It was forwarded to me as a possible "lead". I decided to look up the number before wasting any time or energy beyond that - until I confirmed legit vs scam or marketing ploy. REALLY glad I did!! Thx everyone else for your input as well! Not into wasting anyone's time or money - especially mine!! Most of my business is also via referrals & networking. NOT gonna spend money for a "possible" lead in today's world of communication options! :)

Thanks for all of your posts. I just received the same call from "Kristen". I am a very new agent, so I am not aware of the common scams, but I google EVERYTHING and when I googled the number I found this site.

THIS KIRSTEN TAYLOR IS A SCAMMER. SHE DOES NOT WORK AND/OR REPRESENTS THE US DEPT. OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT (HUD). THIS SHADY COMPANY IS TRYING TO GET MONEY FROM REALTORS. THAT'S ALL THEY WANT. YOUR MONEY. SPREAD THE WORD. GET THEM OUT OF BUSINESS.

Kristen Taylor is a dumb lady who doesn't know what she is talking about. The real estate brokerage I work for in California got an email from her, we called, she pretty much hung up the phone on us once we called her out on the scam. Waste of our time!

Received an email from Kristen today saying she was looking for a REALTOR to partner with a lender to help buyers purchase a home. I knew immediately that it was a scam since I'd heard the same "pitch" several months back from the same company only that time by phone. The pitch is that they're only looking for "one" agent in the area, blah blah blah. As I told the caller several months ago, if you're only looking for "one" agent and you still haven't found "one", it says a lot about you, your company, your offer or all three. Unscrupulous company at best. Just another scammer looking for prey. Don't waste your time.

BTW...she emailed me via my company's website and it came in as a lead. No integrity at all.

Yes Kristen Taylor email me through Metrolist mls. Be extra careful. This is not the first time. Some scammers have used real realtors names and post a phone number very close to the real niumber but a little off and they want you to enter a password into a "google docs" link for their buyers info DONT! They are getting smarter...wait that's not the word it's more cunning.

Gawd I'm gullible to even call them when I knew it was too good to be true, glad I decided to google. My alarm bells were going off...I wanted to believe since I'm a newer agent. Stupid! These people are scam artists and need to get taken down...been going on way too long apparently.
